HL7 ???

What is HL7 ?  This basically tells differing computer and software systems what they are saying.  HL7 was developed by Marquette.  It is an attempt at common standard language to make differing health information systems congruent in there information exchange.  Has it become a universal standard?  Not yet, but the government and large IT companies are supporting its adoption by all those in health information systems development. With the influence of big corporation money it make become the required standard.
