majority". They want and need a totally turn-key system
or device. The don't want to look stupid fumbling with a
portable device in front of a patient.

device at the bedside? Your "early adopters"
and gadget junkies, or all of you healthcare providers?

Portable devices are fine for simple tasks
such as vital signs and orders, but often the thought process
for record completion usually isn't performed at the bedside
anyway.

What is the life expectancy of a portable
device?

Does the portable device operate off of
Windows 98 or Windows 2000, or Windows CE? Windows CE is
a scaled down version of a normal Windows PC operating
system. Often other software isn't compatible with Win
CE. This can take an additional software interface.
